Interior designer Edward Church opens the doors of his magnificent residence located in the 19th district of Paris, near the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, a beautiful neighborhood inhabited primarily by artists, writers and photographers.

The house, built in 1890, has four floors, a beautiful garden and it successfully combines the style of the late nineteenth century with a more contemporary architecture, giving it a great charm. ”My house is a timeless and sophisticated relaxing,” explains Church.

To reform, the designer has chosen to combine simplicity and elegance, inspired by Asia, a continent where he lived previously. The main colors are gray in a continuous contrast with cream, brown and beige, not forgetting to create green spaces and encourage warm light.

His favourite room is the living, where ”the layout and colour scheme create a positive energy. The colour scheme is surprisingly fresh as it changes with the light throughout the day and according to the seasons.”

Precisely is in this room where we found a large number of pieces of art, one of them is the most important for Church: ”A small sandstone statue of buddha from Laos. He's very reassuring,” says.

Throughout the house all the decoration is completed with beautiful paintings, sculptures and furniture from limited editions, signed by recognize firms as Ochre, Royal Copenhagen, Conrad Contract, Christophe Delcourt, Jean Rouille, Peachoo, Miranda Watkins, William Yeoward and even Edward Church who ensures the ”couch it’s the piece of furniture that everyone can enjoy.”

A continuous review to Japanese, Russian or Vietnam art pieces gives an idea of his style and his cosmopolitan character. Edward Church loves to surround himself with precious objects and to evoke his own tastes and experiences, that is why over the stairs the decorator shows a great number of pictures with stories and landscapes that inspire him in his personal and profesional life.

The master bedroom, small and cozy, keeps the designer's style: simple and elegant, modern and comfortable. A constant duel between the past and present.
