Elegance and Glamour
Simple and restrained elegance are the words, which define the work of Kelly Hoppen. The British interior designer loves to create refined houses that are both liveable and balanced, through the use of straight lines and the a symmetric layout.
By using materials such as marble and cashmere, one can feel a touch of femininity and luxury in each room. “I love the combination of different textures in a home, and particularly like to us materials such as silk, wool and linen.”
The best example of her work can be found in her own apartment in London: "To select a colour scheme I follow the principle of yin and yang: dark floors and light walls create a very dramatic effect and play with other shades beautifully."
Always open to inspiration, Hoppen looks at each new project as a new challenge: "I have been really lucky to be able to work in so many different areas - aircrafts, restaurants, hotels, yachts, retail spaces and residential properties".
For the interior decorator, "homes are no longer showrooms that display your wealth. They are now build with love over years and should be full of memories from travels, literature you enjoyed and photographs of your loved ones".
