A Familiar Refuge Tweet

The hut has been designed by OFIS Architects and it is located in a small Alpine village, in the Triglav national park in Slovenia. It has very strict construction and design rules in order to maintain a balance between the place and the environment.

The owners, a young married couple with children, wished to change a number of elements in the house to adapt it to their necessities without wasting its magnificent views.

The materials used for the reconstruction play an important role. They melt the hut into the environment, giving a sense of connection with the scenary around it.

Basically, the inside set revolves around the central staircase. It establishes a clear separation between the everyday-use area and the most intimate part of the hut: the top floor, with three big bedrooms, bathrooms and sauna.

The ground floor is a unique, well-lit and minimalist place for the family, which boosts the spaciousness sensation and favors visual contact and the relations between its inhabitants.

With this project, the firm has managed once more to unite comfort and simplicity. A dream refuge in which we can experience serenity and enjoy the coldest day of the year.
