A touch of modernity Tweet
“A good surprise for all those cross the threshold”, this is the overall brief that sums up the philosophy of the creators of this wonderful six-storey house. In the main entrance hall, colours such as red or gold are very important to create the feeling of surprise.
The authors of this project are architect René Dekker and designer Georgie Britton of SHH Associates. According to Dekker, the main point of his work is the master suite, which takes up the entire second floor and has ”sunshine” as a theme: ”This is a sumptuous room, with a rich mixture of styles and very comfortable”.
Georgie Britton has a predilection for secondary rooms, where she has used ”wonderful Italian-styled furniture” upholstered in linen and leather. Furthermore, bright colours and classic 60’s posters create a sleek impression.
The the most innovative area of the house is the underground swimming pool, a real example of modernity. On the walls there are some scenes of the designer Franck Miller, decorating the room and giving a touch of black humour to the house.
Marylebone House is an "oasis of calm" thanks to a classical architecture based on the abundance of antiques but having up-to-date and modern furniture and art pieces.
