In praise of elegance
Entering the interior of this fascinating house situated in north of London is a luxury only for the privileged few.
Designed by architects and designers SHH, under the direction of Head of Residential Interiors René Dekker, the objective this time was to meet the particular vision that the owner had of the decor, wanting to combine "the relaxed feel of Ralph Lauren with the grandeur of a Four Seasons hotel".
Taking this philosophy as a starting point, Dekker and his team created a classical style and a welcoming feel to each of the spaces, running through all four floors of the house, built in the mid-sixties.
The interior is an area of outstanding personality, dominated by solid and timeless materials such as black and white floors, always simple and elegant, or limestone and cream-colored marble, uniting its effect with that of quality wood, such as mahogany or oak.
This, combined with the exquisite choice of fabrics like mohair or silk, and with a neutral color palette for walls and ceilings, manages to create a housewhich is comfortable, practical and refined at the same time.
Wide spaces in which to maximise the light, thanks to large windows opening to garden and pool, gives the whole picture a serenity and charm, inviting the owners to share their experiences of leisure and relaxation with family and closest friends.
A design with great elegance and personality for a home that, in itself, embodies grandeur and distinction.
