Once again, the British firm SHH has decided to adapt themselves to our days aided by this recent project of new green technologies, without losing its sophisticated style and its bet for elegance.
The house, which was purchased in 1960, consists of 3,000 sq ft arranged over three storeys. Finally, after a waiting time, the local authorities granted the license to SHH to reform the house. One of the main reasons of this approval was the ecological materials and the technology used for the reconstruction of the property.
The building includes solar panels to heat water, a geo-thermal heat pump with boreholes which uses the natural underground earth temperature, rainwater harvesting system and energy-efficient lighting, among other technological innovations.
The house is created to satisfy all needs of a couple with two children. The couple had always wanted to have a home built from scratch and they have fulfilled their dreams thanks to the project of the British firm.
The interior is open and light. The open spaces are to enhance the flow of family life. Moreover, the large windows and doors along with a substantial lightwell at lower-ground level increase the daylight inside the house.
While the front approach to the house has been conceived as open and visible, the rear of the house is designed for children; that is the reason why the project searches more privacy and security.
Undoubtedly, the owners of this house have focused their expectations and needs in a warm and comfortable home which is in constantly harmony with Nature.
