The art of making better use of the space Tweet
Showing great expertise and a command of technique and spaces, Schappacher White Ltd has managed to turn a small loft into a comfortable, light and spacious house.
This turned out to be a complicated task, given that, for instance, the main bedroom had no window. The best solution was the use of walls made of translucent fibre glass, which brings spaciousness and luminosity to the room while preserving its intimacy.
One of the treasures of the house is the bathroom. Being of a limited size, the architect had to work out how to make the most of it.
By using stainless steel tubes and a foot-operated controlling lever to pump water down, more metres have been recovered, creating perfect Japanese –style bathroom which irradiates calm and sobriety.
The guest bedroom, which is open to the rest of the house, can be converted into a private room thanks to two sliding doors.
A beautiful 1970 Triumph motorcycle gives the house a certain vintage touch which contrasts with the minimalist decoration chosen.
The result is an open, comfortable and functional loft in which space is not a problem anymore.
