Modernity and tradition joined together Tweet
Javier Echenike, a Spanish interior designer who lives in Argentina, loves the variety. For that reason his house is an extraordinary mix of modernity and tradition from the thirties: “The first floor is more traditional and classical, preserving all the magnificence from the time of its construction, while in the second floor there are more design, vanguard and my impregnated stamp” .
The decoration is looked after till the last detail as for Echenike “is not only a question of doing things to live, the question is to create places for happiness”.
The wonderful terrace raise a special interest, perfect to relax and with a very personal stamp. Echenike loves it “for the peace, the plants, the sun, the moon, the wood, the green colour, the water and the trees.” In short, “for the sensation of welfare in general” that it gives.
Precisely the designer’s terrace shows one of his fetish symbols, oval-shaped,which materializes in every of his projects, considerating it like “the eye which see everything”.
The flea’s market in Paris, is one of his favourite places where he finds inspiration in and purchases pieces of furniture and other accessories. “I love the atmosphere, the smell, the people, the colours, the chaos, and everything which I can find there produces me fascination”.
