The rhythms of nature

The owner of this idyllic residence, located on the beautiful Punta del Este, is a middle-aged man who imagined a mexican rustic style house where enjoy in the summer with his family and friends.

But the interpretation of space and landscape sensitivity of the project proposed by Martin Gomez Architects captivated him. The house is more comfortable and contemporary and has a privileged guest: the Ocean.

”In our first meeting with our client, he told us that he wanted something rustic as a house from new mexico but we do not do those things, we always tell our clients what we think about the house we have in mind for him and he agreed.” Explains the architect.

In this case, Martin Gomez worked with his partner in Buenos Aires Gonzalo Veloso. Both architects designed a transparent house, with large windows, achieving outside has a special prominence inside the diferents rooms and getting a perfect symphony with the natural habitat around the home.

They thought in a house with low mainteinnace so they decided in using concrete, hard wood and stone as basic materials for this house that can suffer a lot by the sea.

Harmony is the key of this home. A long corridor articulates a comfortable cinema place and five rooms open to the Atlantic. Each of them overlooking to the courtyard, which is protected from ocean winds and sheltering the BBQ area.

A masterpiece of balance and adaptation to nature, where each line and each contour of the landscape seems to be the answer of a great project.
