Born in Monterrey in 1977, Paola González has made a place for herself in the fascinating and complicated world of painting, thanks to her talent and ability to improvise. This has turned her into a young, self-taught artist, whose paintings have begun to make their way into private collections belonging to buyers from US, Dubai, UK, or Costa Rica. Her work can be inspiring for any interior decoration project.

There is no secret to making her paintings acclaimed by a public that grows more every time, it is simply the artist going with the flow, something that reflects in every one of her paintings. ”I like being spontaneous and improvising. I think that’s what makes my paintings more fun…that magic of discovering, as I go on working, new shapes and textures that fit in harmoniously and almost automatically on the canvas,” the artist explains.

With one eye on her favourite painters, ”Marc Chagall, Odilon Redon, Ferdinand Hodler, Pollock and Basquiat among others,” the Mexican painter also goes with her intuition and her own life-experience when reflecting her wishes, emotions and feelings. She expresses them with vivacity in each of her brush-strokes, turning her art into a ”fun, mystical and invigorating,” one.

However, what really matters to Paola González is what her paintings show to the eyes of those who observe them. ”I feel that for art sometimes there is no necessity to explain, the paintings speak for themselves, and the most important thing for me as a painter is what they’ll mean to the viewer.”
