Elegance and Comfort Tweet
Surrounded by 15 hedges which fully isolate the house from the outside, when you enter Philip Nimmo’s house you get the pleasant feeling of submerging yourself in "a green oasis" where the garden reaches as far as even inside the rooms. Built in the 40s, this new architecture could be called "Hollywood Regency."
The interior aims for the highest level of elegance thanks to the use of the ever-sophisticated black and the pleasant white, a perfect combination which emphasizes the protagonism of the designer’s furniture even more if possible.
The furniture is a mix of antique and contemporary pieces acquired throughout his travels, and it shows his passion for unique pieces from the 1950´s and 1960´s, as well as for South American Art.
The goal of this design, possibly one of Nimmo’s most personal ones, is comfort. "I designed the house to work for me and my lifestyle as I entertain a great deal and therefore it is effortless," explains Philip Nimmo.
The living room shows the designer’s good taste. It "is painted a neutral taupe which is the same color as the exterior and compliments the furniture and art work beautifully."
Nimmo has worked with each room, opening it to the outside world, sharing this way the enjoyment of seeing the magnificent gardens and the pool area at any time of the day. ”The first thing I do when I get home is to open all doors and windows for the outside to come in” says the designer.
A house designed to be lived and enjoyed, practical and comfortable, with exquisite taste. p>
