Classic harmony Tweet
The classic style begins with numerous references which inspire interior designers in their projects. Starting with Greece and Rome and then taking in more oriental connotations such as Chinese or Indian cultures, a designer has many stunning places on which to draw inspiration.
Matthew White and Frank Webb, creators of the American interior design firm White Webb, feel that their most classic projects transmit ”the feeling of order and harmony which brings elegance steeped in humanity". These classical references can enrich any home, flooding it with the feeling of those ancient places.
Furnishings and architectural details with classic lines, fleeing any baroque idea, “always brings elegant restraint and simplicity”. Noble and refined fabrics, and colors that are calming are also essential when it comes to creating a home with the ”indisputable sign of the classic order”.
A key element for the designers, when they carry out a classically-inspired house, is the proportion of each room: ”The most successful projects that epitomize classical style start with a space that has perfect proportions.”
In addition to beautifully proportioned rooms there are other elements to consider, such as ”a living room with tall windows dressed with simple curtains. In the bedrooms, headboards that climb to the ceiling. And the bathroom must have an elegant tub that invites one to soak in hot, fragrant water and dream.
The classical style is one that inspires us with order and calm. This atmosphere makes each moment a joy, bringing the best of the beauty of past ages. White Webb create rooms of interest and beauty inspired by antiquity but meant for life in the 21st century.
